The 2017 "Sennics Scholarships and Grants" awarding ceremony took place at Jiangpu Campus, Nanjing Tech University (NTU) on June 15. Tang Zhimin, Deputy President of Sennics and General Manager of Sennics Lianyungang, Chen Xinmin, Chief Scientist of Sennics, along with the chiefs of student affairs office, graduate student affairs office, related colleges and disciplines, and recipients of scholarships and grants, attended the ceremony.
On the ceremony, the leaders and guests handed out honorary certificates, scholarships and grants to ten outstanding graduate students, ten outstanding undergraduate students, and ten students who have genuine financial need. In the speech, two recipients shared their growing-up experience, conveyed their heartfelt thankfulness to the assistance and support from Sennics, and expressed their conviction that they will study hard, pursue lofty goals and give back to the enterprise and society with real actions.
In his remarks, Mr. Tang congratulated on the recipients of scholarships and grants while briefing the audience on the present condition and outlook of Sennics. He stressed the vital role of technology and innovation in the development of an enterprise. "Sennics always places bolstering technological innovation and R&D capacities at a prominent position, which requires not only greater investment in R&D but also the pooling of talents from colleges and the society without bias." He added that Sennics will continue to focus on technological innovation and pursue collaboration with universities, thus practicing green and sustainable development strategy and cultivating high-quality graduates with a strong sense of responsibility for the chemical industry and the society. In the end, Mr. Tang welcomed the outstanding graduates of NTU to join Sennics, so as to grow and develop with the company together.
Mr. Ji Ming, Deputy Director of the graduate student affairs office of the Party Committee at NTU, on behalf of NTU expressed appreciation for the enduring support from Sennics, highly spoke of the development concept and core values held by Sennics, and expected to break new ground in college-business collaboration, advance in-depth communication and achieve a win-win outcome and joint development. He also encouraged the recipients of scholarships and grants to establish awareness of gratitude, responsibility and innovation, and give back to the enterprise and society with even more excellent academic performance.
Set up at NTU in March 2010, until this year "Sennics Scholarships and Grants" have been awarded to 160 students (scholarships) and 80 students (grants) respectively, amounting to RMB800,000. "Sennics Scholarships and Grants" serve not only as the bond of boosting industry-college-research collaboration between NTU and Sennics but also as the effective means of enterprise to attract and reserve high-quality professionals. In the meantime, "Sennics Scholarships and Grants" reflect Sennics' core values of proactively fulfilling its social responsibility and helping outstanding students achieve their life aspirations.
